Horses need help, too, sometimes.
A horse that, along with its rider, fell 300 feet into a ravine Sunday was rescued Monday by firefighters, according to the San Bernadino County Fire Department.
The female rider and horse fell into an area off Bowen Ranch Road, according to a tweet from the Fire Department. The rider was not injured and was able to walk out Sunday, department spokesman Kyle Hauducoeur said.
The horse wasn’t so lucky.
It was assessed for injuries Sunday night, but it wasn’t until Monday that crews were able to return with a Los Angeles County Fire Department helicopter and use a hoist device to rescue the horse, Hauducoeur said.
