DURHAM, N.C. (WCIV) — Citadel Coach Duggar Baucom collapsed on the court at Cameron Indoor Monday night and was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
ABC News 4 Sports Director Scott Eisberg was on scene. He says Baucom appears to be awake and aware- taken off by paramedics.
As of 9:40 p.m., Baucom had been taken to Duke University Hospital for further evaluation.
Baucom was able to walk, with help, to a back room next to the court.
Baucom's wife Amber and son Travis are at the game and visibly emotional.
During a press conference after the game, Citadel assistant coach Jack Castleberry said Baucom was awake and coherent when they spoke after the incident.
Baucom reportedly told Castleberry he was in a lot of pain, which Castleberry said was genuine because “Duggar is the toughest dude I know."
